A long-time competitive athlete, Loren Bassett has always valued health and fitness. "Working out and physical fitness have been my sanctuary from the time I could walk." states Loren. The profound physical, mental, and spiritual impact of practicing hot power yoga inspired her to become a teacher and share it with others.

A natural born leader, she is the ultimate power yogi; a rare combination of grace and power, yin and yang, masculine and feminine. Her class embodies a rigorous, athletic flow emphasizing strength, flexibility, and balance that will take you to your edge, while maintaining inner peace. Her goal is to inspire you to be courageous and confident on, and off, the mat. Loren will challenge you to take risks, live authentically, and embrace your inner beauty. She is an innovator, a leader, a mentor - a true inspiration.

Loren has truly defined the practice of Hot Power Yoga. Her teaching style resonated so much within the yoga community, she co-created Pure Yoga's 100-hour Hot Power Teacher Training with Tanya Boulton. She has mentored and trained numerous up-and-coming yoga instructors. Being one of the most sought after teachers in NYC, she was asked to be a Lululemon Ambassador, a Rawpathocary Ambassador, and to teach at the 2013 Wanderlust Yoga Festival. She leads annual retreats in Tulum, Mexico with dear friend and co-teacher, Halle Homegirl Becker.

A big advocate of cross-training, she created her own boot camp-style class in 2011 called Bassett’s Boot Camp. Named "America's Toughest Workout" by Marie Clare Magazine, it combines hot power yoga, strength training with weights, cardio intervals, and core work. It was such a success, she was asked to create Pure Yoga's signature conditioning program, PXT (Pure Cross-Training). PXT is a comprehensive, fun workout designed to build strength and endurance through unique sequences of cardio and strength training.

Loren was born and raised in Roswell, New Mexico. She currently resides in Dallas, TX where she teaches at Equinox, Exhale Spa and WeYogis Uptown.

Inspired by Bassett's Boot Camp , Loren designed and launched Pure Yoga's newest signature conditioning program, Pure PXT (Pure Cross-Training). A big advocate of cross-training, she believes you have to diversity your workouts to stay in tip-top shape, and look, and feel your best.

A one-stop-shop, PXT is a full-body workout. The combination of yoga, strength training, cardio intervals, and core work all come together as one in this 60-minute class. It is designed to build strength, stamina, flexibility and endurance through a unique sequence that targets every muscle group.

Class begins with a yoga warm-up, followed 40 minutes of cardio and high-intensity strength training, and ends with a mindful yoga cool down. . Loren's unique choice of equipment has truly made PXT a one-of-a-kind class. The combination of strength training with free weights and a coreball, cardio intervals on gliders, and high-intensity exercises on the step provides a thorough, full-body workout. You will feel a sense of teamwork through partner abs, and push yourself to the edge with The CoreBall Countdown Challenge. No shoes required.
